100 books in a Year Challenge

New year, new blog template, new challenge! Not that I've ever done one of these challenges before. So, I'm going to sign up for the 100 books in a year reading challenge hosted by Book Chick City. Keep an eye on the sidebar for the list and I will do 'Thoughts on reading' posts for all the fiction books.

Any one else up for the challenge?

100 books a year at first seemed a pretty achievable goal, but then I sat down and thought about it. I've probably got well over 100 books in my cupboard, half of which I haven't read yet, and most I've had over a year. What's the chances of them all getting read by 2012?

Not likely, I'm afraid to say.

I get too side tracked with other projects to do lots of reading, despite how much I love it. But I wish you all best in your goal. I'm pretty sure you can achieve it.

And a happy new year, by the way xxx

100 books a year is 2 per week essentially, which is a lot. I'm only doing it because I have two reading hours per day on the train. There are other, less demanding, reading challenges on the Book Chick City site that might be of interest. Will FB you later. x
